Final time Type R valvetrain vs. Skunk2
Okay Ive been swithing back and forth on which setup to go with and tomorrow I'm putting them in so I guess I better decide. The cams are Skunk2 stage 1's I have both the skunk2 valvespings and retainers and also have new type R inners my gsr inners to move to the exhaust side and the stock retainers. Looking for some opinions on which setup you would use and why.
And if other mods would influence your decision they are JDM ITR pistons and skunk2 intake mani. Of course all the other bolt ons as well.

Some of the Ti retainers have had reliability problems. This why I wish Crane or Competition cams would make a good set of chromoly retainers & locks. The V8 guys have been using chromoly retainers/lock setups on 500~900whp@6k~9k rpm on their motors forever.
Ti is very hard and galls any metal that is softer. Also if the Ti is from a poor grade it will be very brittle and have the tensile strength of a paper clip on acid.
