Default a new paint job $

i went to view a 95 si civic today, it looked pretty good, the only thing was the paint is all orignal black in color. the paint looks dull because off cleaning techniques. it is badly scratched . my question how much would the average paint job cost not having to do any body work and the car completly stripped

depends on quality...for a good quality paint job you are looking at about 800-1500$ depending on where you go to get it painted

I agree. There's going to be places that are cheap, and some that are more expensive, but 800-1500 is about average for a good quality paint job, after you've removed the bumpers, mirrors, door handles, etc.

the car may be able to just be "resprayed"

as in it doenst have any really major sctatches/dings.

so they can just sand it down a bit, and go over it with the same color.
i know of someone with a blue eg hatch, who had it resprayed for 600,
it looks AWSOME, I believe it was kingtut

Well if you plan on keeping the car black I would check around and see if someone could buff the car out. Sometimes they can work wonders and even get light scratches out.

start here, then look into getting it painted. i've seen some bad cars look really good after some TLC.,
it's also cheaper.......
