Little OT but just finished my 97 JDM ITR swap in my 2001 GSR
Just finished my 97 JDM ITR swap in my 2001 GSR. First thing that really stands out is the gearing. I had a fully balanced and blueprinted and built b18c1 block with CTR pistons, mated with a fully ported and polished b16 head with JUN IIIs made 213whp/139tq. But I had a GSR tranny so even with shifting at 9000 rpms I was falling out of VTEC on the 1 2 shift. The ITR engine was in great shape had very healthy compression numbers of 270 psi in every cylinder. Midrange is excellent, and just pulls so nicely. If I could I would have taken a ITR over my GSR, but im in NJ and insurance for me on an ITR is sick, plus the fact it would have been stolen in a week. Big thanx to SGT for getting me a ITR basemap for the Hondata and for all the stupid questions I asked him. IT was my first swap and it went well.
If you don't mind me asking, but what happened to your original motor? Sounds like your old gsr set up was quite a beast. Too bad you couldn't hook up an ITR tranny to that motor.
