most people here would sneer at you for starting on that bike, but if you're not too tall and not too heavy and not going to ride on the freeway (you really shouldnt as a beginner) then its a great 1st bike. take the MSF course if you havent already...there was one of those available to ride when i took the class - although i rode a nighthawk 250 for the class.

i tried to take the MSF course but its booked for the year. the only way i can take it is if someone doesnt show up on the day of the course. i am going to try doing that. there is a couse that honda is offering but thats booked until August. and costs a lot more.

i am 6'2" and weight around 148lb.

does the price look good.

That's a great bike to learn the basics of motorcycling. Cheap, and easy to ride. All the MSF courses I've seen use THOSE bikes.

You could buy it, ride it for however long it takes to be really comfortable with conditions on the roads and other drivers, and probably make your money back reselling it.

Plus if you drop it in the driveway, big woop, it wasn't a brand new $8000 CBR600RR

6 2 and 150? beanpole! i am 6 3 and 250. :-O

you cant tell much from the ad. a meticulously kept '85 might be worth 1300 but i wouldnt pay over 1000 personally. and thats only if it runs great. i would have an experienced motorcycle techie person look it over and test ride it before buying.
