Help with gauge installation...the Omori Dual Mechanical Oil/Water Temp. Need professional advice
I brought this awhile ago in May, due to school and lack of available adpaters, These gauges are still just a display on my A-Pillar. Me and the mechanic have some real trouble finding for the right adapter, since Omori is a Japanese company and the sales department on their website never replyes my inquries, I have to turn to a Malaysian dealer that actually replys my mails.
Omori Homepage of the model of my gauge, MOW-150, 52mm or 2 1/16 inch oil/water temp

The Malaysian dealer, Mike:

Here is a quote of his reply of the information he needs to know to find out the sizing of the adapter I need:
"You Gauge Part No. should be MOW-150.
For you information, we need to know the thread size.
We have adapter Part No. P46 ( Nut Dia 20mm to M14 P=1.5 ) for honda, but we do not know the actual size for the "OEM Nut ". Is it possible for you to check it out for us the Thread size for the "OEM Nut" ?
Note : The size of M14 P=1.5 is for our Oil Temperature Sender .
Again, thanks and we are looking forward to hear from you soon.
And how aout the Water Temperature's adapter, did you Purchase it ? ( Part No. P171 to P178 with different size available for a more easy installation )
Sincerely Yours "
....What is the OEM nuts he's talking about, does anyone know?
For those who know, please find out the right kit in the website and point them out to me...please? I'll have prayers for you everynight b4 I sleep.
The one I need the most is the oil temperture kit, although the water temp is working right now, but I would like a better fit adapter as well, just don't know which one to buy and the mechanic is too busy swapping engines instead of spending time on the little customers like me.
After I forward the sales's email to my mechanic, he replies:
"you need adapter for temp gauge (the one that gos in the radiator hose. as
for the oil temp gauge we have two places we can put it .one is in the oil
pan .the other is in cylinder head i will have to check the size i think it
is 8mmx1.25 (not pipe thread). the oil pressure gauge is no problem fittings
came in today for that . i will check all sizes and e mail you back."
.......and the aftermath is he did not check the sizes, and I don't feel like bugging him anymore and should do my own research.
Also, where should I install the oil temp? The Drain or the Oil Block? ( it said so on the Omori homepage )
While the mechanic told me that he would put in neither the oil pan or the cylinder head.
uh....two different suggestions, which one is the right one? I know gauges have a tendency to blow off due to 4-cyl's violent vibration. So I want it to be in the safest place.
