That **** sounds like *** because you aren't using stock springs on any of those bolts. The rattle is probably coming from either of the following mistakes:

1. Loose 02 sensor
2. Heat shield touching exhaust

I would advise retorquing the header bolts mounted on the motor and Redoing all of the bolts under the car.

You definetly need springs in the bolts between the header collector and cat. Re-use the ones that were there when you took off the stock stuff.

O2 sensor or tight and plug in.
I know the exhaust is touching the heatshield just have to find out where.
How putting the original spring going to take away the rasppy sound?

It's the 4" round 53006.

The flared tubing on the inlet of your cat has swallowed the donut and looks like the flare may actually touch the collector flange, so some vibration maybe coming from there. Yes, you need to reuse the stock springs for that connection.

I have a an R motor in my hatch with a JDM 4-1 and a hybrid garage cat as well. My cat bolts up in a completely different manner than yours does in the pics. The cat looks like it is swallowing up your header. YOu should be able to see a tight seal around the donut gasket. Did you you get a new S2000 donut gasket for that 2.5 collector on the JDM. If not try that. As for the rattling exhaust, try putting your silencer back in that N1 muffler. They are just loud w/o it. nothing you can do about itt. If you want a quiet exahust you shoudl have gone with greddy evo or soemthing with a muffler as opposed to a punched out coffee can. Hope this helps. If you want me to post pics of the set up I can. Later- Jason

The 53006 replaced the older version 54006. I never saw a 54306 p/n, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist, it's just not in any of my catalogs for the last 3 years.

The only time I use a 2-1/2" 53006 cat is if the customer insists or they want something for the least amount of money. I use the large 93506 now. It's the one on George Knighton's 192 whp ITR with stock cams and pistons.

Use to have DC 4-1 with stock cat and N1 with silencer ( sound great nice and deep)
Now sould like like FLAT and annoying.

Yes S2000 gasket was used.
Fixed the RAT sound now have to figure out about the engine light. I hope I dont have to replace the O2 like the last time I installed my header on the gsr.

Check the code.

If it's a code 67 (which is most likely is), don't worry about it. It's harmless.

This maybe stupid but how can he use the spring nuts with that thing? I could barely get them sumbitches back on when I put an Autozone cat on my stock Civic DX pipe.

You just need to use the springs off the stock. For aftermarket headers, the stock bolts won't fit through the holes, but using aftermarket long bolts and the stock springs, you can get everything snug.

The raspiness is not the bolts, sorry for being unclear. The raspiness could be any number of things.

Good Luck.

I reset the ECM. That took care of the engine light. Now I just have to live with the whammm whamm instead of wroom wroom sound. I hope to pick up at lease 4-5hp from this for the next dyno day. My last 2 dyno day I am up with 169whp.

Sup

So you actually got the JDM 4-1 header huh! Right on. Sounds like you got some problems going on. Good luck with that.

David

PS: The raspy sound sounds like it's most likely the cat you got.
