Default Intake & header question for the experienced...

I was cleaning out my stock filter box & intake today and noticed that there is a small amount of oil in the plastic piping and the innerwalls are lined with oil? I know that there are a multiple of piping running directly from the valve cover to the intake pipe, but is this normal?

Also, i've got the 4th gen accord and was trying to take the header cover off and can't get it out cause there is so much other mechanicals around it... meaning i get the screws off, and it becomes loose, but there is so much **** around it that i can't come out unless i start taking the car apart! Any advice on this?!

Thx again!

the heat shield(the piece on top of the header) should came off without much struggle..check and double you got all the bolts off or not.

as far as oil on the tb goes, it's fine, it's from the breather(off the Valvecover).
just clean it out.

I will double check to make sure that all the screws are loose... but i have an EX and the things that seem to get in the way are the front engine mounts, the air conditions piping that runs parallel to the radiator and the mount where the power-steering sits. These things get the way as i try to pull it out... has anyone ever taken this out of a 4th gen accord?! If so, plz share experience with me!

Also... i'm not putting in a new header yet, but it is okay to take the heat shield off right?! No harm in it cause i see lots of people drive without one...?

Thx!

Keep the heat shield on, it will help cooling down in the engine bay big time.

I have a 6th gen coupe and the heat shield have three piece, the top piece and two other piece sandwich the stock exhasut manifold, it would come out unless i take out the manifold(stock header).

you trying to take out the freon(sp) line? why?

ya the oil thing is fine as long as it isn't alot

the heat shield is a pain to get off you just have to shake it around all that crap i have an ex and i took it off just to see how hard it would be to get the header off but i put it back on when i was done its really not worth the trouble unless you plane on pulling the stock header
