Towing AWD Cars
I'm probably going to buy a '90 AWD Civic Wagon, standard tranny, with the 5spd plus a 'SL' gear. Good shape, great interior, doesn't run.
My main question is - Can I tow this without using a flat bed? How would I do this? Just stick it in neutral and hook it up to a dolly?
Thanks in advance.

I'm pretty sure from what i have heard you have to use a flat bed.
When one of my dads AWD mini vans broke down the tow company had to drive all the way back and pick up a flatbed because they said they would ruin the van if they just towed it. And my dad didnt tell them it was AWD at first so they just brought the tow truck not the flat bed.

it tells you on the drivers side sun visor how to do it...you gotta loosen the 10 mm bolt shift the lever so its in 2wd and tighten it...its in the rear of the tranny, next to the engine mount, you'll need a pretty long extension or you'll have to stick your arm down there pretty far. My car is the 4wd version...in pieces of course cuz i've been stupid but if you've got any questions about it pm me and i'll help you out, i've got the 1989 civic awd manual also, may be different in the 1990 but not too much different.
