Saying good bye to my s2000 for a IS300
Gotta say goodbye to my 02 S2000 for a 03 IS300 4dr. still gots some hp at 225 stock. and it has traction control. But i need more seats than 2 and my R1 only a 1 seater. Bye Bye Honda.....
my friend got an IS the same time I got my S
he said it was a piece of ****
it was shaking on him when he went over 100mph
why not go for an EVO or STI?
even that new VW r32, i think?
LEXUS seems to be overpriced
rear wheel drive 225hp--->$34k
regular WRX 227hp
all wheel drive--->$24K
I never have been a LEXUS fan
it does look good though
good luck

well the evo are 31k here and i am getting a lexus IS300 with 15k on it. its a 01 and its only 22k. But i have taken a IS over 120 mph and i loved it. but i will miss the s2000. i wish they were 4 seaters. I would like a STI but they arnt getting any here in southern oregon.

Its Black with some 18" Polished centerlines on it. I will get it and turbo it so it can still be fast. I will miss the convertible but i will still love the IS300
a friend of mine has a is with about 10-20k dropped into his, was supercharged at around 10lbs i think, now its turbo charged, his best time is a 13.0 with street tires and full interior.
One of my roommates has an IS300 ('02 Manual) so its easy for me to compare (in fact, its sitting right next to my S2K in the garage as I speak).
IMO, the IS is a beautiful car. However comparing it to an S is a little like comparing an apple to an orange. The IS is a sporty sedan and will never be able to compete on a sports-car level with the S. If you need more doors, you need more doors but I am always sad to see another S owner sell their car
Either way you'll still have a sweet car, and I think in your post you said you had an R1 too, SWEET bike

The IS is a great car and I must admit, I HATE Lexus! I give Lexus so much respect and really appreciate their effort for making a setup that is truly awesome.
It's such a sad thing to see so many manufactures jump on the bandwagon and chose V6s over I6's! That's why I give lexus alot of respect because in my opinion, I6 + RWD = best setup for ALL aplications. After all, there is a reason why arguably the best manufacture in the WORLD uses them most - BMW!!! I6s are the best balanced engines wich makes them very smooth and able to rev and their large displacement combined with their super long crank make them a great setup for the 1/4 track.
Gotta luv'em I6s!

HELLO, the cars are not in the same class. The lS300 is a entry level luxury car while the WRX is a rally car. HP doesn't mean everything to everyone. If you sit in the IS300 vs the WRX, it is two totally different experience. The IS300 provides a smooth, comfortable, pleasurable ride with excellent torque. The WRX on the other hand has a cloth interior and a ride quality no where near the IS300, it's all about speed on the WRX.
I also don't know where you go about saying the IS300 shakes over 100mph. Maybe that's your friend's car but I never seen anyone else complain about it.

i currently own one, turboed, and it is a nice car. however, if you want something with a little more speed and potential on the streets/track, i recommend the Audi S4. i own one as well, and i cant wait for the factory warranty to end so i can turbo it.

So let me get this straight. You're 17, own an IS and an S4 and you have no idea that the S4 is has a 2.7L bi-turbo from the factory. Not trying to flame but I find this a little hard to believe. If you really do have both then more power to you, and you better get outside and look under the hood of your S4.
