Default changing tire size....

Well I am putting some yokohama 195/50/15 instead of the 195/55/15. My question is this, will this mess with my speedometer or ABS, or better yet take away performance?? I didn't think it would but some guy at my work was talkin **** like it would so post your opinions.

if it did make a difference, it wouldn't be that big of a deal... there are so many people rolling with that tire size.

Were you not able to find the same tire in the larger width (205 vs. 195). With the wider width the 50 aspect ratio will make it closer to original size of 195/55-15. But, if you can't get a 205, it is no real big deal. Your speedo will be off (slightly) and your mileage will be fictiously higher (small percentage).

To be more precise, the difference on the speedometer and odometer will be 3.3 percent. You can calculate this for yourself here.

It won't affect ABS at all, since ABS is based on wheelspin, which is way more than a 3.3 percent difference.
