Default Weird problem, could it be the map sensor?

My car now drives pretty damn well, as well as it ever has perhaps since I got the ZC in. But one thing I notice is when I first start the car it sounds and drives like a go kart. When the car is warmed up it will be ok. However I have noticed that the car has to be warmed up and then shut up and then started back up for it to run its best. Could that be the map sensor not sending the correct info. I don't think my dashpot that holds the butterfly open at cold start has the hoses attached right but I ran out of connectors so I left it alone. What do you think the problem is? Parts store said a map sensor was like $150 which is a lot. Does that sound like the problem?
