Default Suspension question

When I bought my 93 SRV it was lowered with an unknow brand of springs (lowered about 1"), the ride is a bit harsh but it's liveable. I just put in KYB AGX shocks and even on the AGX's softest setting, the ride is much more harsh when going over bumps or highway expansion joints.

Could changing the lowering spring to H&R sport of Eibach ProKits help? Or could anyone think of a reason? Is the KYB AGX harsh on anyone even when it's set to softest (setting #1)?

The AGX's are fairly stiff even on the softest setting. There's nothing that you can do. Switching to Pro Kit's will probably be less stiff as they tend to be quite soft.
