Default TV in the double din area

I saw a picture in this forum an integra with a tv in the double din area. It look nice and flush in the picture. I know it require a little custom work, but just wonder what size lcd screen would fit in this area? Also any integra owner who does this, can you tell me what brand tv and what size you use??? thanx

thin film transistor

"active matrix" screen.

I would imagine most of them (if decent quality) would be...although the cheap ones still use the old technology.

You can fit a 7inch in there perfectly. That's what I had in my 99 Civic before it got stolen and stripped.

Couple things...

If you put a monitor in the double DIN, where's your stereo gonna go?

Hope you know that most monitors lose a lot of visibility at vertical angles (especially like where the Integra radio is).

I know of one way to control the radio/cd changer/etc. through the monitor but its by remote only. (most of my customers like the appearance but hate the inconvenience of having no buttons in front)

I'd suggest you just use like an indash motorized unit. It's not worth the hassle if its your daily driver.

I suggest Pioneer AVD-W6000, AVD-W6200, or AVD-W6210 touch screen if you're gonna do a flush mount install.

I'd suggest the AVH-P6500DVD if you want a budget motorized unit w/built in DVD. est. $1700. Plus its touch screen. The Alpine IVA-D900 if you want the best. Over 1.15million pixels. Est. $2300

If I were to put a monitor in the double DIN, I would mount the stereo in the cigarette tray and lighter place since I never use them. I already have an indash Alpine CVA-1006 motorized in-dash. I'm planning on putting it in the center AC vent. It just that I don't know what to do with the space left from the double DIN, so I want to put a monitor there to occupy the space. That why I want to know what size monitor would best fit the area, and how big should the housing of the monitor be?
