tokicoblue + skunk2 coilover
I searched and the opinions are just completely split. I just thought maybe you guys can give me a more concrete answer. I have skunk2 coilovers right now and I'm thinking about getting a set of tokico blues.
1. If my car is not that low, will the blues be able to handle the skunk2 rates
2. Is 250 a good price for blues?
3. Half opinions say it's too soft/other half say it's too stiff...what is the bottom line opinion?
4. Your honest opinion on whether these shocks are worth it or not.
5. I drag race and plan to autocross occasionally. How will these shocks perform.
thanks everyone.

These are too little shock for too much spring, IMO. I'm running Koni Sports with 380f/450r and they are just barely adequate. Not sure if that means anything to you, but it's a helluva lot better than those springs were on AGXs.
(And I'd buy an AGX long before a Tokico HP)

As a former owner of that setup, I will say that I really didn't like it. I admit, I started with my car too low, but both the springs and the shocks were worn out after 2 years. 3 out of 4 shocks bleeding fluid, springs that are less than a centimeter from coilbinding when the car is at rest. First the shocks went because they were overworked damping the springs, then the springs wore out because they were all that held the car up. My SPC upper ball joints have dented my shock towers!
I have switched to Konis, and have some ERS for the front ordered and should have em in next week. and will get some GC with different rates later to get the better, Koni specific collars and to have an extra set of spings to experiment with. Spend the money now and be happy. The difference is amazing, the Konis are rebuildable, and the GC sleaves on my friends car are SOOOOO much better than mine.
If you have to get the blues, don't get them in combo with the Skunks, get lighter spings so you don't kill the shocks, if you have a line on the Skunks, get better shocks. You'll need at least Illuminas, Bilsteens, or Konis. Plan on eventual replacement with higher quality system later wherever you skipped if you get more serious at autocross.
By the way, bet you could have found my rants on my Skunk/blues combo in the archive. I don't have anything against either product on its own, and I am sure that other setups with these products could be made functional, I just think they are terrible together. It is THE example of how not to build a good handling, robust, tuned suspension. Serious YMMV here, these are just my opinions. But if my opinion sways one person away from this combo, it would have been worth my time writing this.
