I havn't done much research on this topic but after seeing my friend who purchased a very cheap carbon hood for his teg, i think i better find out more before getting one. My friends hood didn't fit properly, lip wasn't rolled (didn't know what that meant but that was one of the comments made about it), was very flexible meaning the hood kind of poped up in the middle when it was closed. In all, very CRAPPY hood.
Now, i want one that fits like factory, nice and strong, and has a nice finish to it. I was told by people that VIS makes some pretty good stuff. Anyone have experience with VIS carbon hoods? Any online place that have a good price on them? If not VIS, what other brand makesgood carbon hoods? And no, i can't afford SPOON!
BTW - the hood is for a 2000 civic hatch

VIS hoods are great! fits good, nice tight weave, rolled edges, but a bit on the heavy side.. but for the price you can't go wrong.
just got a duckbill spoiler from bodykits nw...they have great prices and even better quality products....vis if u want strength with the added security of not needing hood pins...honestly vis makes some damn nice hoods
VIS is nice, but fiber images is definitely a great quality hood. It fits like stock, very durable, very light, the weave is so smooth (no waves in it), and it doesnt require any hood pins. Good Luck.

i got my oem carbon fiber hood from a place called T C spoilers.....atleast thats the company the shop i got it from goes through. i like it....and it had the carbon fiber underbody (support or whatever you want to call it). it has the latch and the cut outs for the windshield washers...i just got it today...so well see how it holds up. good luck.
c-wings, benen, vis, fiberimages(
) all make great quality carbon fiber products. c-wings, vis, and fiber(if you pay the extra) all have the rolled/double side edges. Fiberimages even makes their frames out of carbon fiber if you pay the extra dough. Don't know if benen's are rolled/double sided. I myself will be getting a c-wings because they have lots of other products and I'd like to have the carbon fiber the same throughout. Vis also makes a lot of cf products as does fiber images, most of the fiber images products are in the staging process and not yet readily available (at least for ek's). Hope this helps u alittle

VIS also makes a carbon skeleton and they have a hood that has all the indentations of the skeleton, but it's flushed. C-Wings stuff is definitely not made to last cause they had tons of hoods that turned white and hazy from the resin they used. Fiber images is pretty good, but not all that. VIS is my first choice and if you got the dough then probably DG hoods. Those are tight.
I just got my VIS w/ the carbon fiber underside as well...I love it, fits pretty well and the weaves look good. I will take some pics tomorrow.
