Stolen Type-R's
My ITR was stolen a few weeks back and I had clifford intelliguard 6000 on it, I'll be getting the auto lock soon though when my car gets back. I've heard only good stuffs about that autolock thing.
Alarms are punk deterents. They will never stop a professional who will defeat it, drag or tow the car off. These cars are worth a lot more as parts, so the thieves don't care if they're drivable or not.
What is the deal with the auto lock? does it work? I mean if you put it on the break, the theif could simply use the hand break. If you put it on the clutch you could shift with out the clutch by rev matching. Of course getting into first kinda sucks, but I've done it before without using the clutch (it was on an old hatchback and the clutch springs were gone). So how can this work? They can't start the car with out pushing the clutch in is the only thing I can think of, but isn't that just a single wire switch that can easly be bypassed?

I think I am going to insert some tie down loops in the concret of my drive way to chain down my ITR every night. Theives suck ***, thank god for a garage, to bad I have to park it in other parking lots and what not. Like the past 3 days I've been driving a 82 convertion van because I've had to go to a few shady parts of town down in Miami. Oh well, such is life.

I thought of this too, the ONLY way to do it would be to locate the anhor and chains so close to the gas tank that a torch would not be used or would (MAD) insure the destrucion of the thief and your car.

There is one way to stop theives from stealing ITRs.... If type-r owners could track down the theives and going on a murderous rampage. Soon enough the word would get out not to f*ck with us. All it would take is gps type devices hidden in a radom place.... Daydreaming about killing a theif.......

What needs to happen is a stakeout like they do here in Texas. The Game Warden puts a fake deer out where passers by can see it. The deer (called bucky) is radio controlled and moves it's head. When bubba come along and stops to shoot it, they nab him for firing from a public road and other charges they can drag up.
(Three girls were busted for this a while back. They put a group the size of a quarter into the decoy at 200 yards!)
You could get a decoy R and hunt from a blind (beater). I wonder what the bag limit would be
You could probably pass off a sparse interior as long as there's a fake rollcage or something inside the car. That way it would like it was gutted for weight reduction. Oh yeah, put hood locks so that they can't see that its actually a B18A1
You know this might not be a bad idea
I'm sure if you left a car sitting in the wrong part of town long enough (5mins) you would be sure to catch someone.

I'm still up for these choices
a) that flame thrower proximty sensor from South africa
b) hire a chemist to make an acid that burns skin, eyeballs...organic material. come back to ur car and see all the charred corpses
c) park ur R, hide in the bushes w/ bb guns and snipe

Does anybody know police officers? This is actually a good idea. But, usually thieves stake out a car (a day or two) before stealing it. At least that is what happened to me. So, this may not work.
im sure even if we didnt, we could suggest it to a PD, im sure they'd love to bust some auto theives...do it round election time so there's more chance of the plan going thru ...damn politicans..."well if i do it then if its successful ppl will love me and re elect me"....

). The thieves there actually corner the car with other cars and steal it the Fast and the Furious style. But when the thieves steal one with a police in it, they're in for a little surprise.
I forgot what township or authority does this, but in NJ there is an anti-auto theft division that sets potential thieves up by setting up a dummy car. I have no clue as to how effective their program actually is though.
I like the GPS idea best. If we could find a small relativly inexpensive gps device that could be tracked via the internet, you could hide them inside a door, or inside a seat, etc. Even if the car is striped before you can react, judgment day will still rain down

GPS/receiver only/
both get chopped within a few hours.
What's wrong with lojack? I've never tried it, but I might when my car is finished. I don't want to keep it on the street with just an alarm with over $15,000 into the car and over 400hp's. Has anyone tried Lo Jack with good results?
