Just read some discussion about 6G Accords hving a problem with transmissions. Are these problems with both 4 and 6 cyl? What does Honda do when they repair them - do they just replace parts with stock original ones or do they use redesigned parts? What are the symptoms when they start going bad?

 

I've got the I4 auto tranny. Pretty strong from my experiences.

 

honda does admit that both the i4 and the V6 have transmission problems. From what my buddy who works for honda has told me is that the 6th gen they are working on fixing it but right now they are just useing the same parts. The percentage of cars that are supposed to be affected is under 2 percent but from what I have been told it is a little more like 5 or so.

 

My understanding is that the provider of the auto tranny clutch material changed its composition without notifying Honda. replacement with OEM parts will fix the problem in this case since the part in the tranny technically isn't OEM spec.
