would the cps.....
alright would the cylinder positioning sensor throw the stock tachometer off, i tried installing a 89 crx si cluster into my 89 dx hatch and the tach wouldnt work. i found out that the two wires coming off the dizzy for the CPS were backwards, so i switched them around, would that cause the tach to be off?
so basically if the CPS wires were backwards would it throw the tachometer off?

As far as I remember, the tach signal is produced by the ignitor and not the CYP sensor. My guesses are
that maybe the connection on the ignitor isn't great
You have a faulty tach wire
Your needle on the tach is sticking when it hits 3k
your tach is shot
