Default Temperature gauge acting weird

Ok tonight for some odd reason my gauge went from around 150 to 50 back and forth really quick. It did this twice. I drove it about 10 minutes after that and it never happened again. At first I thought it was a ground, but wouldn't a bad ground make it go all the way to 0 then back up. What are the chances it could of been air in the lines.

wire coming from the sending unit is loose.. its 1 wire located in the side of the head under the dizzy. clean it, make sure its tight.

after market guage on the stock sender? if so your reading will be all wack-o. each guage is calibrated to each sender, or vise versa. after market guage on stock sender will make for weird results.

I'm not that dumb, its on the sending unit that autometer sent me.
