Default track trouble

I went to the local track and usually run 9.80's in the 1/8. Tonight I ran 10.1's and 10.2's. I just put in an aem FPR. It was a really hot night and someone said thats why I ran so bad. But what do u think?

Well what was the temp like when you ran the 9.8s? If it was a lot cooler then thats your reason.

a 9.8 isnt that bad, the best ive seen a lude run is 9.5 in the 1/8th, so far my best run was an 8.80 in the 1/8 damnit if i only hadnt missed 4th gear i may have gotten my 13.5 oh well..id say average is 9.7.9.8 for 5th gens with i/e...also temop plays a huge part, humidity also, cooler air is denser thus alowiing you to make mroe power, also lets the motor cool down a bit more between runs which helps the little things can REALLY add up at the track..the key to good times

My thoughts exactly. When I saw this post I was hoping it was someone who actually uses their car out on a REAL track.

Also, what is the purpose of 1/8 mile runs?? I have never heard of these. I thought the standard was 1/4 mile runs.
