you could go the honda-tech route and buy some Rota (slipstream, circuit_8, grid, RnR, sub-zero) and wrap it with some Falken Azenis.. or Yokohama AVS Es100.. the yokos are better in the wet and dry while falkens are best for the track and dry driving. good luck.

TKS, my son has Yoko Pradas on 93 Teg, and he's been disspointed in the wet handling area of the perfomance.Dealers have been recommending Toyos and Dunlops, I really liked the Dunlops on my TA but FWD is so diff from RWD. Have Bridgestone Potenzas now in 16" but want 17" and more width for more rubber on the road. I love a hard cornering car with LOTS of grip so more rubber the better, was lookin into 215/45/17 or 225/50/17. All feed back appreciated.

Stay away from parada spec 2's unless you want to change your tires often.

I'm currently running on falken ziex (215/40/18) and it's great. it also has a rim protector, i've hit many potholes and my rims are safe. it's grips like hell on dry roads, i never skidded yet. when wet i feel safe with from hydroplaning. the only thing i dislike is rocks and pebbles always get stuck between the threads making me think that i ran over a nail/screw.

Its all about running the stock wheels and picking up some yokohama avs es 100's for your daily driving needs.

i'm probably going to go with Rota Attacks in 17x7.5 with Yoko ES AVS 1000s or dunlop 9000 sport in 215/40/17. i'm just curious about what offset would be ideal...43mm? 48mm? also does anyone have pics of a 5th gen with attacks (or volk gramlights) mounted?

If you're willing to spend the cash, the Bridgestone Potenza S-03's are what I recommend. While the Azenis are the premier dry grip tire, the S-03's aren't far behind, and the S-03's are a definite improvement in the wet. There is infintesimal drop off between wet and dry. The S-03's also run wide (my bro's 205s measured out to 225), so I suggest going a half inch to inch wider than stock for the wheels.

Are the Potenza's worth the x=tra $$? A dealer told me today he has had alot of return buyers for the kelly perfomance tire, people htat used to buy Yok's, Toyo's.
Anyone have any input on how the 17's will ride and feel vs the 16's I now have?.The Potenza's are supposed to wear better and still have good wet traction even 1/2 thru tread life. Real or hype i don't know. The Potenzas on there now are ok but figured it didn't hurt to get some feedback.
But what about Rim brands, theres got to be some opinions and history out there.
Been lookin at TSW & Einke or Konig's, quality, reliability and a comp. that stands behind it's product is what I want.

Worth the money depends on you. If the S-03s were the same price as Azenis, I'd switch. It's hard to overstate how much wet traction the S-03s had. Treadwear is better than the Azenis, but my brother's car was totalled by a lady running a red light, so we never got to see the tire to the cords.
What kind of Potenzas do you have now?

a rim protector wouldn't prevent your wheel from bending - that takes a solid slap of some sort. it would just protect the lip from mild confrontations with curbs and potholes
