Default Off to Montreal

Okay kids, I'm leaving for Montreal early tomorrow morning. You all behave yourselves while I'm off hob-knobbing with F1 drivers! Go Honda!!!

Too bad Williams' didn't take the win. Close race though!

I couldn't believe the crowd getting out of the race. My first F1 experience. It was awesome! I got to rush the fence and get close up pictures of the awards ceremony!! Made it back in one piece! Ready for the USGP!

Speaking of the GP, I just bumped into Jacques Villeneuve on the street. My buddy and I are standing on the sidewalk talking and we see JV coming towards us, alone. I say to my friend (a bit too loud) "Eh, c'est Jacques" and JV overhears and smiles, so I say "Salut" and he responds "Salut", still smiling. He seemed in a good mood.

You mean he was just standing there in the middle of Montreal? I wish I could have stayed! JV seems to be easy going. After he retired yesterday, he simply changed and hung around the pit wall (BAR timing) and was probably talking to Button until he too retired. My seats were right in front of BAR/Minardi ! I got a good listen to Button's transmission go crunch and to hear the lovely Sauber Ferarri engine blow up on the front straight.

I was over at 6 and 7 I think. The left right combo on the back straight. Not too much happened there during the F1 race, apart from Firman losing his engine there, but there was some good action there during the support races.

I didn't meet any drivers, but when I had dinner at Newtown on Friday night, I met/talked with David Richards and Mario Thessien, who were both there for dinner. VERY cool!
