My turbo accord is getting a trans swap
Its finally time to swap my auto accord into a 5spd. I just started my swap today! New parts going in: a 6 puck clutch, Heavy duty pressure plate. Im excited! I just wanted to tell you.
dont need a tranny by chance do you? i have a freshly rebuilt f22 5 speed w/ welded diff for sale. or, i could swap out the diff w/ my h22 tranny and use the welded diff in my race car.
tranny has all new syncros and 2nd-4th gearsets.

the auto tranny is like a parasite, you lose a lot of hp through it. the 5-spd will be much faster and most importantly, more FUN to drive. also you don't have to worry about slipping auto trannie anymore.

so kinda on this topic... how does everyone feel about a 6 puck disc for daily driving? I just ordered one and I mean I think I know what Im getting myself into, but it said not reccomended for street use...

I knew a guy with a 4 puck on his 97 Eclipse rs...its been on for a while and hasnt done any damage, but from here on out your clutch will be either engaged or not...no middle ground or smooth transition anymore. I think that might be why they don't recomend it for street use because it's vastly more agrivating in the type of stop and go traffic, and up hill slow moving driving that we must do every damn day. But if you've got a calm attitude then you should be fine good luck

thanks for the replys. I just put in all my hard lines for my tranny. Ran my cables, and im preping my tranny to be mounted on the motor. Im taking pic of everything.... however toooo bad i have to go to school and work everyday, so i don't have time to work on it until the weekend owell, maybe Ill be running by this next weekend.
i had a 4 puck unorthodox racing in my car.. love the fact there was no play in the clutch but it was definitely too harsh for everyday driving...
hey NXAccordT04B i was just wondering where u got all the parts for this swap. i want all the hard lines and stuff for the clutch and pedal and shift plate but i cant find it. can u help me out here i am desperate for this swap. i love to drive a standard but my car is an auto and i cant even use my boost properly. please let me know thanks
Not sure what year Accord you have but if it's not a 4th gen, did you also have to cut off and weld the right tranny mount bracket in? Wondering if that's still the deal with the newer Accords...
jiten42 - try a salvage or junk yard for your same car but manual... that's where I got all my parts, nice to have a donor car and take all you need.

i think it's overkill unless you plan on putting down alot of power. that's alot of extra stress on the drivetrain.
