IL Rs for sale
Out doing some car scouting for my sister and stumbled across 2 Rs for sale at a local Honda dealership.
Highland Park Honda, 847-831-4200
98' R, white, ~74k, their asking price is 17,900.
00' R, Black, ~forgot to check
, 19,900.
Anyways, posted this here since I know the people who are always looking tend to 'troll' the R forum
If this is out of line go ahead and delete, just figured i'd help those looking.
edit: oh and the lady i was talking with has been in the business for 4 days, so is more then likely to actually try and help you then the older sales people. Her name was Kima.

I've been trying to sell my 98 R with 88,xxx miles for $11,500 stock or $12,500 with the Cusco items for about 3 weeks now. If it's not sold by next weekend, I'm yankin the motor out and building her up.
Anyone want it?
Thanks,
Brad

Here's the link to my ad. Since I replaced the PCV and breather chamber, the oil problem has subsided. It has a clean title, it just needs some TLC. I purchased the car in Jan. to do a build up, then I have been sidetracked with the Evo 8 or Ek idea. Now I just keep driving my car and loving it more and more, so I decided if it doesn't sell by next Saturday, I'm going to continue with my original plan.

I have used the service department at Highland Park Honda and Pauly Acura and have had very good experiences. I still have most of my service done at Woodfield Acura, though (with an occasional foray to Acura of Brookfield across the state line.) All good service departments in my experience - the best in the Chicago/Milwaukee area.
(Highland Park Honda and Woodfield Acura have the same ownership.)

Just a note to those looking at these cars.
They have both been in accidents and the repair jobs are less than satisfactory.
In face, the dealer is telling people they were not in any sort of accident, but the repair jobs are so bad you can figure it out on your own.
Also, it sounds/looks like the two cars were beaten mercilessly by their previous owners. (i.e., they don't look good, high miles, many mods removed, etc.)
So, if you are looking for a top notch used R, go eslewhere. If you are looking for a track car, maybe this is a good idea.

Yea, I actually went and looked at both of them. Salesman was really shady, and didn't know anything about cars.
The 00 Black-
Front driver's side fender didn't line up with the hood at all.
Back bumper had gaps big enough to fit my fingers in.
Rear hatch had gaps.
It had been modified too.
The 98 CW "100% stock"
Was lowered.
The rear piece under the taillights was repainted... not even close to the same color as the car.
Wheels had curb marks, and at least 2 had been repainted.
All the weather stripping was in horrid condition.
Chips all over the place.
I think there was more flaws in both, I just can't remember.
I wouldn't buy either, but Im just really picky
