what size rims does everyone run?
i currently have 17x7's but will be downsizing to 16x7 next month...but from wat everyone says acceleration improves but handling is still the same...thas one reason i'm goin back to a smaller rim, second is i hate 40 series tires cracked a rim once and blistered 2 tires
For everyday driving i run 18x7.5 Racing Hart M6's(flame away), but if i go to the track/dyno/long distances i throw the Si wheels or 97 GSR mesh's on.

yea but i am sick of show, and want something that is light and decent looking at the same time. Less maintenance , better everything, less tire noise. Also, don't have to switch wheels when i go to the track. I will go with 16x7 also, and put some Kuhmo 205/45/16 i think because i think 205/50/16 will rub

goin' from 18's back to 15's for street driving.
sick of putting a lot of mods on my car and not being able to see huge improvement because I got my 18" tanks on the car....
plus I cant get super grippy tires to fit my 18's (I like the Advan 032R on the street a lot even though they are noisy, so the Rotas/Advans I have are growing on me as an everyday setup)
when I rock my 15" circuit8's then I can see a lot of gains from my mods, and the car really takes off
plus as stated above, being careful of potholes and bumps can be tiresome, and you have to ALWAYS be alert otherwise you may have just funked up your wheels

i'm worried that i am going to regret switching from 17" to 16" because 16"s look so small compared to 17" will their, really be that much of an improvement overall?

Currently running 16x7 but will be switching to Kosei K-1's in 15x7. I'm not concerned with looks, despite the fact that these wheels look great, just performance.
IMO, if you gonna run 205mm tires, might as well stick with 15" rims, maybe 15X7 rims to make it fit better. For the 16" rim i'd go with 215mm tires to take advantage of the tire selection (try finding a good selection of 215/.../15) and wider tires. 15" spoon, very light, yummy. sidewall kinda high though on the 15" compared to the 16, so i guess it's a compromise you have to take....and see which works best for you...
autoXers like to use 13" rims, but thats because of no-nonsense performance right there.
Personally im on stock rims, but keeping my eye on 15X7 or 16X7 spoons. dunno which is better yet. i wonder if the extra 10mm is worth the weight...and if it can be made up with using sticker tires (street non-R) in the 205 vs the 215 size. I wish 215mm were made for 15" rims more often(and fits our cars[sidewall]height)..

Autocrossers like 13's? I would figure that small a rim would have a huge sidewall and correspondingly more flex. Plus don't many of them have brake upgrades too that wouldn't fit under a 13 inch rim?
13" rims would only have huge sidewalls if they wanted to keep the overall diameter the same as stock, which they dont. They do it and it gives them a smaller overall diameter, thus giving them a slight TQ multiplication, almost as if they had shorter gears. brakes, yeah some so, while some just run really good pads and sticky tires, and an autoX course unlike a track event, i dont think your gonna be doing 120 --> 40mph braking over and over and over again...most autoXs are what, under 60 seconds?
