squeaking at moderate & full throttle on d15b7 Mini-Me
here's what I'm hearing:
when i give it gas while moving (wont make noise when i rev it sitting still),
i am hearing a squeaking noise coming from engine. it sounds like the type of noise of metal on metal squeaking. not continuous, but more like squeak squeeak __________ squeak_____ squeak____________ squeak _______
It always happens when i give it moderate to full throttle, but the squeak is not a constant squeak when it does happen. It sounds like some kind of bearing wearing out to me, somewhat similar to when my distributor went bad. the alternator is still the original... is this the sound of an alternator going bad? the noise has been there for a while (4+ months), in the last month or 2 become more noticable. it only happens when the motor is pulling the weight of the car though, this makes me wonder if it could be something intrnal
otherwise the car is running as strong as it has been since the mini-me
here's my set up:
1992 civic dx hatch, auto 150k mi on motor
1999 y8 head/IM (35k mi) installed @ 135k mi
along w/ waterpump & timing belt
distributor replaced @120k mi
oil changed every 3k, valves adj every 15k
