n00b here! (of course with a question)
Just wanted to say hi to all... I am a 5th gen SlowShift Lude owner.. woohoo!
got a question for you guys..
Been looking to get some wheels for my Lude.. anyone know about the Excel brand of wheels? I saw some at wheelmax that I like but I wanted to know how the quality is. I cant afford volks or racingharts.. but i just dont wanna invest in some crappy rims either.. anyone got these brand rims? please post your opinions.
Here is the wheel i am looking at.
TIA

sounds cheap. i have kuhmos and 18s and mine were 1500 with a "hook up", but thats with mounting/balancing. Never heard of excel but wheelmax is a good company ive heard.

need to scroll down to see that.. free shipping too!
so, no one here has any Excel brand wheels? oh! darn! lol! anyways.. thanks for the info.. the rims that came with the Lude are the OEM chrome rims that are available for the Accord V6.. and i bent one rim..
and each rim costs 240$..
so.. i thought I'd add a lil more money and get this.

You're adding more money, but you're getting cheaper rims. I'd stay with OEM.
2 yrs ago, I wanted aftermarket rims, but was on a budget, so I just went for looks. Big mistake - the rims are 24.5 lbs each and are significantly heavier than the OEM ones. If I had to do it all over again, I'd spend the money on better tires or save up for light rims.
just my 2cents (Canadian)

buy the rims you are looking at and if they are good rims you got a good deal but if they aren't you can tell everybody else not to buy them. there is always a first time for everything. maybe they are decent.
I have these wheels.(made by ikon) They are light as well(i couldnt tell difference between stock, like I Could with my 18 adr) But I recently hit pothole dented one, im hoping county is gonna pay for it. Mine go for about 160 a wheel plus ventus 205 tires.

My rims are heavy as ****, i noticed a steep drop off in top end. If I had it to do all over again, i would get 17s because they are lighter and it would be easier to drop(because now i gotta get coilovers).

and 17s would have been cheaper(no ****) but the roads here suck and ive bent a rim before and paying 170 for a rim after i already spent a shitload on the set wasnt cool. And the tires are more expensive.
Welcome to the board. I'd have to say no go with the Excel's. It may just be me, but I have to go brand name when I get my stuff. Go with some Rotas, I love my subzero's and their lighter than air(little exageration). I got mine for 450 shipped and 425 more for Parada's. I think $75 more is worth it. Rotas are lighter and better wheels than excel.

WTF??? I might actually get these, minus the stickers of course. Always wanted a SW388 or Slip to come in 17's
