do you mean is it the tranny thats supposed to go along with the h23a , or do you mean is that the tranny that was specifically made and bolted to your exact motor from the factory? be more specific, and whyw ould you care , is it working

check all around your tranny there should be more stickers, and im also not sure if teh s/n on the tranny sould match the last part of your vin, it might be but i doubt it

is there some reason why you wouldn't have the stock tranny anyway?

even if it is the tranny from the factory, which it most likely is, you wont know whats inside till you take it apart.

where did you get the car from?

was anything else done to the moter that would support a tranny build?

what does it stall at?

ill have to consult my helms, i really don't know but one would think the s/n on the tranny might be related to the last 6 or 7 digits of the VIN, if not there really is no way to tell if it was the original bolted to the engine

i'm not sure how to answer your question about the serial number, but it sounds to me like your transmission is slipping. when it shifts to second do the rpms shoot up? i'm pretty sure it COULD be as simple as tightening the bands, however i know very little about transmission maintenance

automatic transmissions are something Honda dealers won't work on. Ghey huh? My dad wanted them to change the filter on my parents 95 accord, but the dealership said they couldn't. All they could do was flush the fluid 3 times. if anything internal was to be done, it would have to be freight shipped out to california, then anything that involves cracking the tranny open can be done, and it's shipped back. I don't know if they were just being lazy or if this is true for all honda dealerships, but it sucks.

sorry to tell you man...hard shifting and "catching" secondis a characteristic of the death of a transmission....

No one makes an aftermarket transmission, and there are no OEM preformance tranny's that could have been "secretly" bolted to your engine.....

.....My thoughts are you will need a tranny soon.....

yea man, that isn't a good thing. if for some reason it really is "better" than other stock trannies its cuase you got one of those frankenstine cars from the factory, one that has a few more ponies than usual just out of a fluke in the manifacturing process. i'm going to step out on a limb here and say its stock, if anything it MIGHT have a aftermarket tourqe converter, but i dunno if anyone makes them for auto ludes. i've never heard of (i guess mostly becuase i've never had a reason to look for auto tranny parts...) any mods for lude auto trannies and i doubt yours is modded, most likely about to fail...
