Default h22 civic front sway bar...

my stock front sway bar won't fit because of the shift cables.

when i tighten the sway bar, it makes shifting difficult because the cables rub on it.

is the sway bar important? should i shave some of the bar so it still fits?

poo i dunno what to do.

no front sway bar will make a definate difference in the way the car handles. shaving it might alter its effectiveness also. i would try shaving it and see how it works out.

how much of a difference?

is it true that the lower civic models don't have sway bars?

if so, is it that big of a deal?

Mine fits. Just take the sway bar off and then run the cables then put the sway bar back on. Adjust it or modify it some, if need be.

Well that would work if the H22 wasnt sitting in the engine bay yet. Im pretty sure he has it in, and is driving the car. It would not make sense to disconnect the shifter cables to bolt on a sway bar. Somebody has to know one that fits.

Mines in the car. I'm driving mine too. But I assemblied my car from the shell (suspension, brakes, swap) back to stock all at once so it may have been easier for me to do that then for him to.

I had the motor in the car and just ran the cables to the shifter forks then added the sway. I think I had the sway on just sitting there and I try to run them through but the ends to the shifter cables where too big thats why the sway was loosend or taking off.

Is the sway bar bigger than stock? I could see why it wouldn't fitting if the sway was bigger then stock, because mine barely fits.

Can you just go under the sway? What ways have you tried?
