Default my shifter is f*cked up!!!

ok, the little bushing at the end of my shifter has been shitty for a long time, and i have been haveing trouble getting the car into 2nd and 3rd gear (grinds a little). and just recently when i put it in reverse it gets stuck. like it will move around but won't go into any gear. once i finaly get it unstuck, it will drive ok. but on my way home today i was accelerating pretty fast and when i went to go into 3rd gear it just grinded like crazy and now it is stuck in second. i have been fighting with it for ever but i can't get it unstuck. do u guys have any suggestions?? i am planning on just buying an aftermarked shifter. and hope that fixes it. what do u guys thing?????

I know it will make your shifting hard to do, I don't know if it would stop it completely but its worth a shot.

Also if the linkage and bushings look ok then replace the tranny fluid.
