Default fully built motors make valve knocking noises??

i have a fully built motor (look at sig.) and when i rev it while i am looking in the hood, the motor makes noise like the valves are knocking (sounds like hitting something). is this normal when a motor is newly built. does the springs and valve just need to break in??

Did you put in new cams, adjust valves? Springs and valves does not have to be broken in. But cams do.
