have 107k miles on my d16. do i need a valve adjustment? also, how much do they cost?

 

how many miles have you put on it? Did you just get the car? Do you know the service history? I would do it if I were you.

 

yes, do it. should be around, i dunno $45 bucks.

 

valve job is around $80- $90 bucks depending on where you do it!!!
and valve adjustment is around $40- $50 bucks also.

 

forget that, buy your own valve adjustment tool from snap-on, get some feeler gauges.. learn how to DIY on honda-tech and charge your friends 30bux to do their adjustments for the rest of your life. teach a man to fish.........

agreed, learn to do it yourself, and u can do it all the time when you need to

Agreed , all you need is a helms manual. H-T had some threads with downloadable EG helms manual in pdf format. do a search mah brotha

 

If you have never done it yourself i suggest you do it with someone that has done one before. I noticed you are a newb, but of course that doesn't explain your background with cars. Anyway if you have had enough experience with cars here is the how to, its pretty simple actually. do u kno how much this process cost? if i do it, i think im just going to get a new valve cover gasket kit, which is like around 45 bucks i think

lol you gotta adjust your valves every time you press your car to the limit, such as mimicking 2fast2furious race scenes. regular 60,000 mile interval adjustments should be takin into concideration if you drive your car regularly. Valves let your car breath... not adjusting them causes ristriction and not to mention a whole lotta knocking down the line. So it be a good idea to adjust your valves regularly if you like to drive hard . cheers

all you really need is a 10mm wrench, a flathead skrewdriver, and feeler gauge. but if you want to buy the tool, i beleave pepboys or autozone carries it.
