I have personally owned a set of 17x7 rims about 2 years ago with 205/50ZR17 Toyo Proxes, and had no rubbing issues at all.
I believe it was a +40 offset on them, which mounted flush with the fenders.

17x7 Mille Miglia Action Sports
No rub with H&R Sport springs 1.75" drop in the front and 1.5" in the rear.
I use 14" rims with Nitto 555r for the track. Soon I will have 13" rims with slicks.
i had 17's on my 92 hatch with 205/40/17 with a +42 offset. I had it slammed and it didnt rub because my car had camber. If i corrected the camber i woulda had to lift it up to where there was no gap so it wont rub. Here's a pix of my friends car with 17's with 205/40/17 and +42 offset before he sold the car.

17's on an eg is worthless, you're website is the most retarted thing I have ever seen in my life and I think I'm going to kill myself later tonight after reading it. Street racing is ******* RETARTED, and your install difficulty of HARD for installing foglights, and MODERATE for installing an indiglo type r **** is frickin hilarious.

Now THAT's classy. Kudos to you, for being cool about a flame.
Even though I have to agree, street racing is silly. I dun do it anymore, although I have done it in the past. I've seen the error of my ways.

what about 16"? anyone got some pictures of that, do you guys think that 16" with a 2" drop would be better than 17" with a 2" drop?? More pictures are a good thing, both of 16" and 17".

I only scrape when I have a full car and the car is sitting way under the guards and im doing a u-turn.
Be prepared for camber issues, My car is pretty high so it isnt to bad for me.
Tires - 205-40-17 Kumho tires.
Negative camber problems
Ie. The tires will wear on the insides if you lower the car.
Its the same with any tires except 205-40-17's are quite pricey. You can buy a camber kit to combat this.

If i get a camber correction kit will this help the tires not rub that dastardly screw out to destroy my tires? (the screw of the camber peice facing down toward the tire)

I dont know what your talking about.
The 17's will be fine. They wont scrape if you get 205-40-17 profile tires.
If your still worried, go buy some 14's.
I know of at least 30 EG hatches rolling on 17's & a few on 18's with no problems except tire wear due to camber issues. 17's are small!!!

743- Do you think this topic should be in the appearence forum? Because there are pictures? Then why at least once every few hours does this forum carry a topic with 5 pages of pictures of peoples cars, or like now, there is a topic about intakes where everyone is showing off their engine bays, does this belong somewhere eles too? Who is Tom? Correct me if i am wrong, this is my assumption...he is the moderator?
