Default audio wiring on 99 civic

does anyone know what each color wire is on a 99 honda civic? i'm pretty sure it's in the helms manuel. i'm hooking up a new deck and i'm changing the plug, so i need to know what each wire on the stock plug is so i can swap it correctly. thanks.

buy a wiring harness, make your life easier, they color code the aftermarket radio harness and the wiring harness, so it should be fine

how much of a hassle is cutting wirings, striping it, and connecting it with the new harness to plug into the deck? and then put electric tape around it so it doesn't touch the other wires?

anyways...does anyone know? i'm sure it's in the helms manual...but i don't have one.

It is actually pretty easy to do this. You'll need a good set of strippers/crimpers and some butt connectors. Don't use electro tape! Most of your aftermarket harnesses come stripped, so you may not even need to strip anything, just connect it. Most harnesses come with a wiring diagram as well, so really all you do is match up the colors and crimp. Easy stuff.

Even with *****'s information, I recommend buying a harness. Before you chop up your wires, look into some how-to's, etc... you could really lose some money if you don't.

I am not promoting, nor condoning, the cutting of the factory harness.

I just gave him what he asked for. An aftermarket adapter harness is the only way to go PERIOD

It'll save you SO much time, and make reinstallation of the factory HU easier...wait no... POSSIBLE, not easier!

And the next owner of your car will not want your head if you leave the factory harness intact. You own a 4 year old car. Spend the 20 bucks and don't f-up the factory harness.

see what if you decide to sell the car? and you decide you want your cd player out of it, then you spend about 30-40 bucks for two more harnesses so you can put the stock harness back on
