Default super bouncy ride!

I just installed my sprint xtreme springs on my stock 99ex shocks.. The ride is SUPER bouncy over most bumps in the road..I knew it was going to be a bit bouncy but this is crazy! I didn't have the cash to invest in some new shocks just yet, but I am getting ready to do the install again and just throw on some aftermarket shocks..I've heard nothing but good things about the koni yellows..anyone have a 2.5" drop and koni yellows? On a soft setting does that smooth the ride out a bit?

dude, you need to get some new shocks..you can't expect to ride on your stock shocks and expect it to be a nice ride. anyhoo..i promise you..after you get some after market shocks..you will feel alot of difference. Get some tokico shocks.

i have my 94 hatch slammed with some cheap coilovers... like 2.5" -3" drop. 16's are tucked a little in the front it is so low. but mine rides great...handles great.... o wait... i have stock crx struts in the rear, and crx kyb agx adjustables in the front.

so this is proof to me that shorter piston struts( crx are like 1.5" shorter than civic)
make the car ride smooth.. almost like stock... while being lowered, and having stiffer springs making the car handle better. i think i am going to buy some tokico blue's for my hatch and see how they work out. my friend had them on his 89 hatch... those with eibach prokit.. that car handles like a dream..

i bet u didnt cut ur bumpstops lol...otherwise dont be a sissy...koni yellows are nice but they arnt made to ride soft either...they give u a nice firm ride without the sottoming out stock shocks give u...im riding this low on stock shockks and they ride fine...im lowered 3.5 at least with room to spare

Get some aftermarket sway bars. It should stiffen up the ride a bit.

you will probably need the stock bump stops, washers, strut caps.. all that stuff. but when you do the install.. cut the bump stops in half. maybe a little less than half (keep the bigger part.) you want to have enough to compress and dampen the bottoming out part. but still have em small enough to give you more suspension travel.... try and look at how compressed the struts will be when the car is on the ground just sitting. if you still have about 3.5" of suspension travel, probably make the bump stop about 1" ..maybe 1.25".

I don't know what kind of spring rates your "extreme" springs are but i have some GC's (450f/500r) with agx's. Love the setup but it is quite bouncy when you hit a bump. The setup is just NOT intended to go over bumps and be comfortable. IMO shocks will not improve this as much as you seem to think it will. However they can stop you from bottoming out as easily. If you're not Auto-xing with the setup and mainly using it for looks i wouldn't go above 350 f or r. Good luck man.

the illuminas are much better shocks
1. they are ajustable not in just one direction but in both
the pressure is regulated as it goes down and up. so it hardy bottoms out
and there only about 350. just get em on ebay.

Hey i am riding on some Tokico Blues on my EK and mines rides stiff, i like the ride on my car handles like a Champ in the pro circuit
Suspension Mod's
Si Control Arms
Si sway bars
APR Strut front strut bar
Rear Skunk2 Strut bar
Rear Lower Tie Bar
Tokico Blue shocks
Max Speed Coilovers
and 205 Potenza's 15s
GSR rear disc breaks

Handles like a champ no problem

anytime u lower a car u should take at least half off ur bump stops...when u switch to coilovers u can reuse them if u wish...some shocks come with bumpstops...

I just put on Tokico blues with my H&R sport springs and so far I'm satisfied. I don't do more than one or two autocrosses a year, so I didn't need adjustables. I'm taking a 4,000 mile road trip starting tonight, so that will be a good test.

BTW, I picked up my Blues new on eBay for $218 plus shipping from seller jdmwerks13
