HELP!! stripped bolT?!
i was trying to put together my suspension after moving up my shock perch. I got the bolt in 3/4 way but now it just spins both directions. Is the bolt stripped? its the 17mm one at the bottom. I only have to connect the other side and i'm done.. pisses me off.
It's prob not stripped. Are you doing the front or rear? Actually it's hard to tell which bolt you are talking about... but anyways. for the front you have to get the fork to line up with the lca hole. Get a screwdriver and stick it into the other end to help it line up and get the bolt threaded in. The rear is very similar, just no fork.
Actually why dont you just look at the bolt and see if the threads are stripped. there's your answer.

well see if the actual bolt is moving. . . or its the tool around the bolt not conecting. . . i belive thats a bitch to get that one in. . .it has to line up exactly. we had two people do it on my car cus its so hard to line it up and keep it all in place. . . if u stripped the bolt then i would get a new one. . cus if u need get it out and you jam it in , that would be bad enws if you ever need to take it off.
RIght on. Jack up the LCA (or shock fork) until the holes line up and knock that bitch in with a hammer.
If you got the holes lined up really good, you won't even need a hammer. It just slides right in.
