Ripped Piston Boot on Brakes!
I was changing out my pads today and I somehow ripped the rubber boot that goes around the piston, right around it where it presses against the pads. What can I do about it? Is it safe to drive on for a day or two?
the boot around the piston or around the retaining bolt??
if it is the piston..you prolly need a rebuild.
This would be a great time to pick up the Legend/NSX calipers, and use your old calipers as core exchange.

that boot is just a dust boot. its there to keep break dust out... you should be fine for awhile, but after some time it might start acting up.
yeah, i figured out that it will be alright for a while, but I need to buy the 15 buck rebuild kit to fix it. And it's just the dust boot around the piston. Do you upgrade the rear calipers/rotors also when upgrading to the Legend brakes? I thought it was just the front.
