Default Changing to Synthetic oil... kinda worried?

I've just rebuilt my h22 last year and have been running regular 10w-30 oil for about 15-20,000 kms about 10,000 miles... Before the rebuild I changed the car over to synthetic and it was burning quite a bit of oil... The motor seems to hold oil very good after the rebuild.. Should I change it to synthetic or just keep using regular oil and change it more frequently? Kinda worried about messing up an engine that runs great as is.....thx

As you know, my engine is being rebuilt now, should have it back next week, and I plan on running regular for 500 miles, then another change for 1500 miles, and then in goes the synthetic. AmsOil Series 2000 0W30 racing oil.

my experience: rebuilt motor - car went about 20000 miles on 5w30, then I bought it, switched over to synthetic and I have had almost zero leakage between oil changes.

i have heard also if you run synthetic sometimes that it will make the rings soft and dont allow them to seat well, i have been wanting to change mine over but i have been worried about this
