Default How do I change the milage ???!?!!

I got a new cluster, (becasue I wanted an RPM gauge) and my old Milage was 187 000 Km, and my new one says 57 000 km, so theres a pretty big diffrence. is there a way I can get my old milage back ? with out putting my car on a jack and putting a brick on the gas....

I don't think its possible, I did the same thing to mine. I just wrote down the difference in the owners manual and I know that I have 22K more than the cluster says. If there is a way, I'd like to know too.

You can either swap out the old speedometer, or I have heard of them being wound over (which I would not suggest). I just got a new one and kept up with how much the new cluster is off, but be sure to put the old one back in to get it inspected!!!

There isn't a way to switch out the odometer from the old cluster and throw it in the new one?

take apart the cluster with the tach, then take apart the old cluster and switch the speedo. and put back together and just plug it in.

All you have to do is swap your speedometer from the old cluster without the tach to the new one. It will work perfectly. Takes less than 5 mins. Just remove the 4 screws in the rear of the cluster that hold the speedometer in and it will come right out.

They have shops that can set mileage for you. I'm sure if you show tem what your trying to do they can help.

No a regular shop should not be able to perform this. Try finding a shop that specializes in electrical repair. In VA we have shop called tidewater auto electric and they handle all of the cluster work for my shop. You may need a friend that works or owns a shop to help. Places that do cluster work are not to keen on working with walk ins, it,s a legal thing. HOPE THIS HELPS YOU SOME!

We got a JDM one in and I just clicked it back with a pick tool and was just mindful not to scratch it or break the teeth on the wheel. Worked for me and it didn't break ****. Not a suggestion just a statement.

I've done this. Open the cluster and manually adjust the mileage, it's not an easy job but it can be done.

Hey I change my milage on my EX cluster...All I used is a needle...First you have the take out the plastic cover of the cluster....When you look at the numbers, there are slots on the right of the numbers...just use the needle to move the slots up and the numbers will move. This process may take a while because I moves only a little at a time. Don't worry, it will not damage your cluster....Sorry its kind of hard to explain, but i hope you guys know what I am talking about.

what about using a drill to to adjust the mileage? just stick it into the hole that the speedo cable goes into. or do modern cars not have cables? or would this take too long? i don't know, i just know you could prob do it to the cluster of an 88 prelude
