Default lsvtec w/ Toda C

My car was dynoed at 192whp using CTR cams and I'm upgrading to Toda spec C next week. Anyone here have a similar set up and how much more hp's can I expect after tuning.

I'm getting the car dynotuned after the install so i'll post the results i guess...just couldnt wait. Although, a friend had his car dynoed with spec C's, similar set up as mine except he had CTR pistons (i have us itr) but he had shitty headers and exhaust, smaller TB (62mm) and posted 204whp/139 torque.

redstar racing in Hayward, Ca. ...ported the head and match ported the skunk2intake to the ericks racing TB...my tuner said I could probably gain another 5 whp by replacing my CAI to a bigger diameter one. I will probably do that after I install the new cams on Monday. Todacious spec C cams, hehe

Give Tito a call (owner), 510-259-0979. He's actually my engine builder and Dynospot in San Jose tunes my Hondata...Freakin $185 per hour for dyno-tuning.

Would Cs be more effective than Bs on a stock 10.6 CR? I'm kinda wondering the same thing but I dont know if I will ever replace my pistons.

<== tryin to keep it stock (as much as possible )

I'm building a LS/VTEC motor soon and I am wondering if I would be able to run these cams considering the fact that I am using CTR pistons? I've heard that I might have to worry about contact? Any opinions?

i would stay away from C's until you have at least a compression of 12:1..

otherwise u might be dissapointed

Yea also, C's are meant to rev high.... you dont really want to be revving the **** out of your ls/vtec do you?

Same set up as my friends, CTR pistons, spec C toda cams, no contact, 204 whp at 8500rpm and it's still going up. He just didnt want to break his motor since he just got it broken in but with his set up, it will rev up to 9500 easy.

New cams (Toda C)were just installed and drove the car for the first time...Dyno-tuning is scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Idle fluctuates a bit and slight dip in power right when it hits vtec (5700) but pulls stronger than my CTR's all the way to 8500 rpm (i didnt want to rev it higher til its fully tuned). Motor growls louder than usual too especially above 5700 (vtec).Just wanted to share this new found power...Dyno sheet will be posted tomorrow.

Your set up is scary. You should watch the revs.

Were you able to measure piston to valve clearance?

PNOY din ako.

clearance is not an issue to my understanding. My fellow autox'er have similar mods w/CTR pistons and I have us itr (slightly lower dome) and he doesnt have clearance issues. Thanks for looking out though. Salamat!

Compression? We calculated it between 11.5-11.8. And I do have Toda valvesprings too. (its a must for Toda B and up)
