Just bought a 97 prelude SH!!!! give me some info.
I just bought a 97 honda a couple weeks ago so i new about all the mods stuff available. I don't know much but from browsing around i think im lookin to put on a cold air intake followed up by an exhaust. i was thinking about headders but im kinda skeptic if the performance uprade is worth it. Im also would like to lower it, whats the best kit out thare. Give me your info, whare do i start my mods. what do i avoid. thanx
Atascadero! WOW you are from the big city. Don't you feel a little out of place? I didn't figure that they would let someone buy a Lude down there.(JK) At least you can go cruise the beach.
What do you want to do with your lude? FI, AutoX, 1/4 mile? That will determine what mods are worth doing and which ones aren't.

Just pick what you want to do first. If you want to go for performance or looks. ****!! never mind, just do both. Do a little performance such as intake, exhaust. Then lower it and get a body kit. Move on to a little work on the inside of the car such as indiglo gauges and/or shift ****.
Yea i feel way outta place, i bought the car in LA, then drove it home, I think i got the only prelude SH in town, i like that
i just bought my lude a month ago ... i guess u would enjoy ur ride too ... if u want look ... first lower it with rims and bodykit ... otherwise ... save ur money to get turbo ...

. I've had my Prelude just over 2 years, and I have no complaints...well, except I want a little more power. I handles good out of the box, you don't see alot of it on the road (unless you like in Vancouver
), has great looks, and if you're like me, you can't get the grin off your face :D.

It already has nice 16 in rims and Z rated tires, It handles awesome, i wanna lower it a bit but i don't want a harsh ride. Do those front and rear strut bars help at all, i see them for sale cheap, do they do anything?
i enjoy a turbo lude because my roommate got a turbo lude ... but how sad ... he is leaving honda ... he enjoy his 240 now ...
If you're still on the stock Potenza RE92's, Z rated doesn't mean much; these tires suck.
Front and rear strut bars reduce chassis flex during hard cornering, they help but you probably won't notice the difference unless you do some track racing or autocross.
For lowering, what kind of set up are you looking for? Do you track race or autox? If not, I suggest Eibach Pro-kit springs with Bilstein HD shocks. Keep in mind, any lowering will give you a stiffer ride. How stiff depends. The Pro-kits will lower approx. 1.5" and the spring rates are only a little stiffer than stock, so similar ride quality. The Bilstein HDs are long lasting, tough, quality, self-adjusting damping shocks. They're not cheap, but they'll last.

Another kind of strut to look at are Koni Sport ("yellow") struts. Like the Bilsteins, they are adjustable. They too are expensive (around $500+/set from http://www.shox.com) but well worth it.
I agree with the strut bars...unless you autocross or go on the track, you won't notice the difference. That also goes the same with sway bars. If you lower your car, "everyday driving" difference will be night and day with just strut/springs alone.

I don't have any kind of track around where i live, I just love taking it to the limits on back country roads. I already ordered. CAI, headders, front strut bar and AEM pullies. I think later ill get lower springs, mainly for looks. I just love showing off the capailites of my car to my truck drivin buddies. when i take them for a ride their jaw drops to the floor
