Be Careful With Your R At Courtesy Acura (FL)
I am just passing on a warning about Courtesy Acura in Sanford, FL. I think that's where they moved to. A friend of mine left his PY R there for months due to some problems it/he was having. When he finally came back, they had to call the police because someone on the staff stole his interior. Don't ask how we know it was an employee, it's a long story. Basically, Courtesy didn't even call my friend to let him know his interior was stolen.
Basically the facts are: an employee(s) stole my friend's interior. Police didn't have enough evidence to charge them, they still work at Courtesy Acura and are capable of doing this again. Please be careful if you have to leave your car there. Call every day so they know that you are aware of what's going on.
The thieves were so nice that they left all of the CF trim and his head unit. But took the 2 JL amps.

No, that was from his other car just so he could drive it home. Courtesy was so nice about it too... They offered to sell him the replacement parts for cost. Which turned into cost plus 15% by the time he got back there. Even corporate wouldn't do anything about it. Just a hard lesson learned... I'll never leave my car anywhere over night and I'm sure he won't either.
They dusted for fingerprints and came up with nada. It was sad to see the poor thing in the driveway with no interior, front end messed up and fingerprint dust all over it. The front end, BTW, is a lesson in not letting your stoner girlfriend drive the R.

How wonderful... sounds like its time for a lawsuit

Buy parts at cost? what a joke. Stolen on their property, that is their responsibility.
and... how do you know absolutely for sure that the stuff was stolen by an employee??

ummm lawsuit. if anything, his insurance company should go after the stealership. also, my interior was stolen from a shop and the car was totalled. was his car totalled because of the interior theft? read my link below for full info and the story, his sounds familiar to mine.
It's a long story about the employee. There were phone calls made and certain people there talked to. Suspicious acting individuals and tips here and there, but nothing concrete enough to give to the police. Someone wouldn't talk after a tip was received. It's hard to explain, but even one of the store managers said something about knowing there is a thief among them but without knowing which employee it was, he can't go firing everyone, which is true. That's why I put out a warning.
His car wasn't totalled. I think he got a check for like $7000 from his insurance company.
I remember your story, I told my friend about it when this crap happened to him. He can't afford a lawyer either... It's just a crappy situation.

All that info could be used in court. A manager who chooses to not do anything about the 'theft' issue is not much of a manager, IMO.
I seriously wouldn't get complacent on this one. Money or not, this is just plain wrong and you gotta go after the dealership on this one.....

Ask ThePunk about his dealings with the dealership and the insurance company...if you do a search for archived topics by ThePunk in the itr forum you'll find what I'm talking about...

It's not going to do any good... Jon has called everyone possible, corporate, dealership manager, police. I wouldn't go showing all kinds of big people this because of grapevine syndrome
I'd want to be sure everything is correct before telling anyone else... I'm just relaying a story to the best of my ability as a lookout for other people, not to solve Jon's problem. He gave up on it...

Jon does not work for Acura. To them he's on the outside. I on the other hand know some influential people at Acura and American Honda. I'll see what I can find out.
Sadly, I don't trust any of the dealerships around here.. but then I've never had a reason to bring my car in for warranty work either.
The dealership should be responsible for that imo.

that service department does suck. they tried to keep my R overnight when they were replacing the front seat covers, they called and told me that, "it turned out to be a bigger job than we expected and we'll have to finish it tomorrow" i told them that i was coming to pick it up in 30min and they can keep the seats but i was taking the car. i showed up with an Si passenger seat i was going to bolt in, but amazingly the car was ready to go when i got there. the guys in parts are ok, but prices are crazy and over list. i order parts from Len all day pay shipping and still pay less and receive my parts quicker than either of the 2 Acura dealerships in central fl.
