Pics of my in progress recovering of my interior- EK hatch
hey as some of you know i've been working on recovering my interior for my H22 EK hatch with this red fabric stuff, and now I've moved on to the seats. Only the driver seat is done but the others are soon to follow. Luckily, my mother is a professional seamstress (hey, don't laugh) and she was willing to install the red panels in the seat inserts for me. The material cost was a little over $10 including the fabric and the spray adhesive for the door panels. let me know what you think!! More pics to follow as the seats are completed, one by one. Comments are welcome.

Agreed, don't over do it, but the seat looks quality. Thats as far as I would go, after you finish that passenger seat that is.
I know, that was my major concern too. not to do too much. I think with all the seats and doorpanels done, that will be it for now. It will be classy and a nice two tone effect without being too ricey\flashy. I was worried about the rice look, but since they are quality stitching jobs it looks classy, IMO. I agree completely though. Too much would not be good.

Nice job. I want to take my prelude to a friend of my Aunts and have her re-upholster the carpeted areas of my door panels in dark grey vinyl (dark blue interior) and redo my front and rear seats in cloth with a vinyl center insert. She said she would do it for pretty cheap, so we'll see. It may be a fall project before I bring the car back home to store it.

yeah, the speaker cover looks janky. Also, keep in mind depending on the material used, that color red can fade to a nice pink real quick if not shaded properly...think TENZO racing seats if you've ever seen those after a few months of being in the sun. Its BAD.

Yes, they're 91 CRX seats. They had the grey in the center originally.. Wow, I didn't think about the fading thing. That bites.
Hmm, gotta keep them out of the sun. Oh wait, I'm in upstate NY.. haven't seen the sun in... ooooh...2 weeks. Rain straight. any way to protect my fabric??
Also, keep in mind I designed the setup as so I can remove the door panel stuff, speaker cover, and console armrest stuff (which I did myself) VERY easily. I put no adhesive on the stock stuff, just on the back where it would not interfere with anything, should I choose to remove it. Just pull and the stock look is back!
The seats, well they'd be a bit tougher but the stock fabric is right underneath the red (to retain the cushy feel and to not get that thin 'cheap' feel in the center) so I can, if careful, remove that too with a knife. It's all reversible. that's what I wanted, in case I get boredof it or it gets stained/faded/or old.
No, unfortunately I won't be making it to the fairgrounds this year. I'd LOVE to go...
