Dealers trustworthy? (San Jose, CA)
Well, I'm taking in the ITR tomorrow to get a bumper-to-bumper inspection, but I'm not sure where to go. My only viable option at this point is take it into the local dealership for a checkover. Do you guys think that the dealers are trustworthy in this respect? If not, does anybody know of a good mechanic I can take it to in or around the San Jose area?
Probably too late but I will put in my $.02 anyway.
I take mine to Steven's Creek Acura for service and have Always had good experiences. They have good techs, that do the work right. My car is bone stock, and I autoX and track it too. Yes, they know all about it. I'm straight up with them and pay for what I break, and don't ask for free warrenty work when I know damn welll it's my fault. In turn they don't take me to cleaners. They have never given me any problems with the car.
Now if you bring them some moded car that is a real POS, your on your own.
Steven Creek Acura Service
Their sales guys are moron's though, but that's nothing new for sales.

Foreign Affair in Santa Clara is the ABSOLUTE best place to take your car. They only do Honda/Acura cars.
Only problems: They do not like to work on modified cars, and they are not open on the weekend.
Stevens Creek is under new management, and they scratched my bumper last time. The parts people and the service people are good, but the service advisors don't know JACK. Their sales people suck too. I took my car there to talk to them about my 010s wearing on the inside, and the service manager said it was because I had lowered my STOCK car. He then proceeded to tell me that the RE010s were not the original tires, and that I had no reason to talk to complain to him. I will NEVER go there again for service.
When they scratched my car, they did give me the service for free however, so in all fairness, they did make the effort. The fact that they scratched my car is still unacceptable.
Sunnyvale is a little better, but of the dealerships, Los Gatos is by far the best in the South Bay.
