I just installed the Teins and the ride is excellent. I can also say that the handling has improved tremendously. Go to showstoppers.com, they have them for 139.00!!!

Tein's all the way..people say H&R's are pretty good..especially since theyre so cheap but I've heard some different stuff too...some saying that they should just stick to German cars...

they say the prokits are designed to work w/ the stock oem shock/strut..so they'll last longer while the Tein's are not....I had the Tein S-Techs when they just came out...theyre ok..kinda bouncy for my taste...decided to flop 1500$ for the Tein Flex instead...

I had Eibachs on my EK. I was really satisfied with the ride quality. Thats after going through Neuspeeds, Race and Sport. Eibach makes good products. I think between Eibach and Tein, it would have to be preference. Eibach is an American based company and Tein deals with a lot of Japanese cars. Tein has a lot of race track experience.

I've got the SS on my EP3 and it rattles like crazy. I thought it might be the tie rod ends jumping around but it turned it wasn't the problem.

If anyone has any insight on why these coilovers do this to our cars, PLEASE enlighten us!

I started a thread about this on clubrsx, and this is the response from it...

"Tighten your pillow ball mounts properly and you wont get any noise... You need to use one of the spring perch wrenches and hold the top spring hat with it, then tighten the nut holding the pillowball mount on. Holding the spring hat with the wrench prevents the shaft from spinning while you tighten the nut."

yup...its important to pay attention to the torque specs on those bolts or you'll get a clanking noise from a) tightening them too much or b)not tightening them enough to allow too much free travel of the spring

h&r makes excellent suspension products.

They put a lot of thought into spring rate selection in order to reach optimal handling balance. their spring rates are typically equal front and rear which lends itself to providing some understeer correction. Most aftermarket spring companies (eibach included) opt to make the front stiffer to control body roll, and then leave the rear mostly unchanged. so stiff front, mushy rear = understeer issues get worse requiring sway bars etc.

From past experience, I can say that h&r makes an excellent product.

not to mention i can get them for 155$ shipped for the ep3.

Hey i just got my oem bodykit on my rsx. but now i need to lower the car. What springs do you guys recommend? I was thinking of eibach sportline, but the tein springs sound pretty good too. How many inches does the tein springs drop the car? thanks

Rattling is caused by mis-installation. The damper rattles because the upper spring seat is not installed properly. If you look at the bottom of the upper spring seat you'll see a notch (circle with flat sides) machined into the seat. That groove must match up to the one on the piston, thus seating the upper spring seat into place. That is how you are able to use the spanner wrench to hold the upper spring seat to tighten the top nut to spec. If the upper seat is not in the groove then it won't matter if you hold it with the spanner wrench, cuz the piston wil still rotate. TEIN kits come pre-assembled but all parts must be checked for placement to insure proper installation. Without checking each damper you might get lucky and the upper seat is in place out of the box, that is why usually only one or so dampers rattle and others don't. If the upper seat is in place and then you tighten the top nut the damper won't rattle.
