my alternator died and i found one at a good price but its off a b16 does anyone know if they are interchangable? i saw on a website that they were but i want to make sure they are thanx.

alternator is a 00 si and i have a 97 ls

 

all B series alternators "should" be the same...as long as the amperage output/rating is the same you're good to hook..I'd just go down to the local parts shop and get a rebuilt one if I were you...a lot less of a hassle.

Thats what I thought. I got a 98 b18b from canada and the actual alternator clip for the wiring harness was a 3 wire plug. Now my brothers USDM 98 LS integra has a 4 wire plug and so did my sohc motor. I don't know why they are different. I used the three wire plug, matched up the colors and left out the color that didn't match (white wire w/ green stripe) and has been running flawless for a year and a half.

 

the 88-91 b16 and 92-93 b16 alts are the same. i got one on my b16
