Default NO Lip on my New R?

I bought my 98 R today and I noticed that it didn't have the front lower lip attached, I asked about it and the guy said there was never one to begin with is this a factory option? If not does anyone know where I can get one at a good price?

Nope, they were standard, he jacked you. But oh well. I think you can still get the lips at the dealer pre-painted from the factory or get a replica from Comptech (Wings West).

You got screwed, let the guy know you are reporting him to the authorities. See what he says then.

The lip comes standard on the R. I dont know how much the front lips go for. Try searching for one with the search feature. Good luck.

lips range from 150-200 on this site. I paid a little less than 200 for a brand new one.

Uh, first of all I told him to do it as a threat. Second of all, in this country, it is illegal to sell something under false pretenses or through misrepresentations. If you read the post, it states that he clearly asked about it and was told there was no lip to begin with. BTW, let me know what law school you attended when you get the chance .

$200 new is a steal!!!!

FYI, I'd go get some money from him, cause from Acura they're just over $400 last I checked...

That's not something you should let go!!!

there's a group buy over in the Integra forum for the Comptech lip... I think it's $185ish shipped or something like that.

Just because it has no lip shouldn't keep it from being a Type R. It's not like the lip is moulded on there or anything, it screws right off.

But easy way to tell by checking the VIN, if the 8th digit is a "1", then it is a Type R.

either the guy is a moron and his was removed some where along the line, or he lied to you.. either way, no big deal.. just go buy a new one.. my 98 didn't have the lip on it when I bought it.. I noticed it though and didn't care..

was this guy the original owner? maybe a previous owner had it off for whatever reason(damage?) and sold it without it, and this guy doesn't know any better..

Well, you kinda got screwed. Hopefully your car wasn't in a previous wreck. I'd definitely speak up and tell the guy the lip was not an option and is supposed to be there..
