My Painted and Polished Wheels (pics)
the first two were taken outside at aroudn 6:30 or so and it's cloudy so you can't see the shine on the lip too much. . on the second two i took them in my garage, so it stands out more. . but yeah, here is the finished product. . I used rustoleum barbque paint (#7778) for the center pieces, and took the outer piece to mag masters to have the lip repaired and polished. .

haha, i haven't put them on yet cuz my clutch went out so i've been outta commission. . i did this in the mean time. I barely got my clutch and flywheel like 2 days ago , and haven't had time to work on the car. Also, i have tires on order. . so when i get the tires, put in the clutch and flywheel, i'll post pics of them on my car. . no problem

did you actually separate and remove the spoked center section from the outer rim? If so w

how well do you think that paint will hold up? just curious cause i wanted to paint some wheels flat black like that and didnt know what to use. looks reall good i think
someone else recommended the same paint to me to get the flat black "Spoon" look. Anywho, as long as you do like 2-3 coats it should be ok. The original coat could be used as a primer. Just make sure you either strip the paint like i did (cuz the paint was chipping) or you sand it down really well, so the paint has something to grip to. If you end up needing to strip the paint cuz of paint chipping, i used Aircraft Coat Remover. They sell it at like any kragen or car place. You just let it sit for like 30 seconds and u already see all the paint blistering off. Only one bit of advice. Use gloves when scrubbing the paint off, cuz the spray doesn't hurt. . the bits of paint touchign the skin stings. But yeah, it should hold up well. And if it does chip or whatever, it wont' be hard to paint over. :cP
