I had a muffler shop do my install today for my Apexi N1 catback exhaust and they had to cut about 1 inch of piping from the pipe that comes before the axel back (I forget the name of it) to make it fit. My mods are JDM header and carsound cat. I understand why they had to cut off about 1 inch because the header and the catalytic converter make the exhaust stick out. My question is that will I lose any amout of power with the cut and re-weld of the exhaust system...Sorry if I sound paranoid, but I need some guidance
**Any people had to mod and cut there Apexi N1 to fit**

I was going to do the same thing because my spoon n1 sticks out a tad, but i said **** it, I dont want to cut anything, oh well. But no, as long as the weld was done nicely you have nothing to worry about

so the air flow will not get messed up because of cutting, will it...DAMN I am going crazy!!!
Sorry to hear that you had to cut your exhaust. I had no idea that your header was longer than my Spoon. I have the same cat... maybe a different model?
Anyway, happy to hear that it is on. You're loving it, I'm sure.

ya i love the exhaust, and now i figure out its not too common that people have to cut and modify a catback exhaust system...oh well..thats how life goes
I had an Apex N1 cat back system installed about 3 months ago and the exhaust shop had to cut and weld the rear section of the exhaust. This modification did not alter the performance or sound of the system. Word of advice - run the system without the included silencer. The sound that the Type R makes when it hits VTEC without that silencer in there is intoxicating
if you have a JDM itr header thna its not the headers fault it might be the cats fault ? i didnt have to cut anything with mine and mine always fit perfect.
yes i also had to have an exhaust shop take out about an inch of piping and reweld my n1 due to it being to long paired with my dc jdm 4-1 and 2.5" carsound cat, i ran it for a while being too long and then after it was cut, and welded back i could not tell any loss of power.

ya i think carsound is the issue here, but I had the cut re-welded again for safety and peace of mind....Sure feels good in VTEC ..woohoooo
