Recently got rear-ended and I was curious if you guys could tell me if you think they are gonna total my car or not. 94 GSR w/ 98k miles.

Thing that need to be replaced:
Drivers side quarterpanel
Taillights
Rear Bumper
Piece in between bumper and trunk
Trunk Lid
And pretty much the entire trunk, inside all the metal is bent and broken

All this stuff, plus labor, plus paint....what do you guys think? I heard if the damage is more than 75% of the cars value, its totaled. Car is worth like 6500...and I would think thats about 4-5000 worth of work. Last time I got rear-ended just the bumper and the piece inbetween the trunk and the bumper was like 2200....Thanks, peace.

 

They wont totall it all the time like that. I had a friend cause 14K dollars worth of damage on his accord (which he only paid 10K for). They restored it to almost PERFECT condition. It was even better than when he bought it.

Your frame isn't bent is it?
Also the area like where the top of the door closes isn't bent is it? If so, most likely they'd total out your car. That's damage to the unibody, and no matter how much damage is caused if the unibody is damage the insurace adjuster is insturcted to total out your car.

I'd prolly have to see pics of your car to tell if it's totalled or not. But you are prolly looking at like 4-5K dollars in parts/labor.

 

I dont think the frame is bent at all. But it seems lately that everything is going wrong with the teg, and I kinda wouldnt mind getting rid of it and buying something else. Options are sorta limited though, well see....

 

Just for an update, total damages are $5000 (4993 to be exact). Not sure if there gonna total it or not. If they do, im tempted to get a 240sx Well see...
